Heritage Communities of Omaha, NE is pleased to announce development plans for a new senior living community: The Heritage at Grand Island. The community will be the first of its kind in the area to offer both assisted living and memory support under one roof. The Heritage at Grand Island will be located just West of Hwy 281 and State Street and will begin construction in this fall, with an expected opening of Fall 2016.
“With seven retirement communities in Nebraska, including one currently under construction, we have established ourselves as a leader in senior care for the state.” Nate Underwood, CFO, continues to say “By offering memory support along with our assisted living, we’re able to provide a continuum of care that is needed in Grand Island.”
Heritage Communities’ exclusive memory care program, Portraits, will also be offered at this location. Portraits is rooted in the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori whose guiding principles were to offer independence, a meaningful place in the community, positive self-esteem, and opportunities to contribute to the environment. Each person residing in the memory support area will have their own, individualized programming based on their abilities, talents, interests and strengths. The goal is to provide engagement in life by creating new moments of joy and happiness for each resident, all in a fail-safe environment.
Portraits is offered at each of the Heritage Communities with memory care, including The Heritage at College View in Hastings, NE.
