Heritage Communities is pleased to announce development plans for Norfolk’s newest senior living community. The five acre site will be located near Highway 275 and S 25th Street, and feature both assisted living and memory support apartments. Construction is scheduled to begin late 2015, with an expected opening late 2016. The $14M project will create an estimated 60 new jobs in the Norfolk area. Heritage Communities recently announced expansion into Grand Island.
“With seven retirement communities in Nebraska, including one currently under construction, we have established ourselves as a leader in senior care for the state.” Farhan Khan, CEO, continues to say “By offering memory support along with our assisted living, we’re able to provide a continuum of care that is needed in Norfolk.”
Heritage Communities’ exclusive memory care program, Portraits, will also be offered at this location. Portraits is rooted in the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori whose guiding principles were to offer independence, a meaningful place in the community, positive self-esteem, and opportunities to contribute to the environment. Each person residing in the memory support area will have their own, individualized programming based on their abilities, talents, interests and strengths. The goal is to provide engagement in life by creating new moments of joy and happiness for each resident, all in a fail-safe environment. Portraits is offered at each of the Heritage Communities with memory care.
