The Heritage at Northern Hills Gives Back


An excerpt from the Sioux City Journal on August 10, 2015:

Laura Glover’s youngest son slung a bright orange backpack over his shoulders like he was going to school.

“Put the backpack forward and stuff the big pockets first,” she told him as a line of volunteers began backing up. The 10-year-old reversed the straps and carried the bag up against his belly while he filled it with a box of Kleenex, pencils, notebooks and other school supplies on a list.
Glover kept directing traffic, helping volunteers of all ages figure out what they needed to do when they arrived at the Heritage at Northern Hills, an independent living and assisted living facility for seniors. After they snaked around the room on Thursday afternoon, grabbing crayons, markers and glue from tables manned by residents, they arrived back by Glover.
“If you want to keep going, you can take another one,” she said.
