New Assisted Living Project to Offer Support to Those with Dementia

An excerpt from The Grand Island Independent regarding Heritage Communities’ upcoming project:

A project planned for the west side of Grand Island, to be built by Heritage Communities of Omaha, will be the first senior living facility in Grand Island to combine assisted living and dementia support under one roof.

The senior living community is expected to open in the fall of 2016 behind Sam’s Club and east of Summerfield Estates Subdivision. The project, which will cost $14 million, will hold about 100 people, said Lacy Jungman, director of marketing and sales for Heritage Communities.
It will consist of 60 to 65 assisted-living apartments and 15 to 20 apartments devoted to residents with dementia. The assisted-living apartments range in size from studio to two-bedroom apartments, Jungman said.
