Meet Renee Mayo
Executive Director at Orchard Pointe at Terrazza
My work in senior living began in February of 2014. At that time, I was leasing apartments at the apartment complex where I lived and they purchased an Independent Living Community. I was asked to fill in for a few days. The Executive Director told me that the residents were enjoying my presence and asked me to stay. I loved it immediately! Growing up, one of my favorite people in my world was my grandfather who had passed away 10 years ago. He and I talked often, and even had our own language. While working with Seniors, I try to treat every resident, prospect, and family member as if they were my grandpa and/or my family.
As the Executive Director for Heritage Communities’ newest location, it is my role to be a resource and support for our associates, residents, and family members. My favorite part of my career is that I really get to know so many people. Who they are, what is important to them, what makes them happy, how I can make them smile. I can go home happy at the end of the day when I know our residents and team members had a great day. Laughter is the best sound track for our community.
Outside of working hard to provide an outstanding experience for residents, associates and families, you can find me spending time with my family. My mom is my best friend – we even finish each other’s sentences! My teenage nephew is special to me too. He and I have been cooking together since he was three years old. I love to see his compassion and kindness towards seniors when he visits me at work. I also love a good game of bowling!
