Heritage United Update

Heritage United Update

It has been said that parenthood can be summarized into the phrase: the days are long, but the years are short. If you have children, no matter how old they are today, you may remember some days feeling as though they were never going to end, yet once you paused, it surprised you how the years seemed to go by in a flash.

As we turn a new calendar page and enter the onset of fall, this feels especially true of our time during the pandemic. While there have been many days that felt long, it is with awe that we reflect on how quickly time has passed. In seven short months we have grown stronger in infection control protocols, we have greater access to testing options and are stocked with more PPE than we could have imagined since beginning this journey in March.

Our Response

Our Heritage team members have become even more efficient as they work alongside one another to care for the residents entrusted to us. The encouragement and support of both family members and residents have given our associates the courage and strength to keep moving forward in light of frequent protocol changes. We have all come together in a way we have never seen before in our organization, let alone in our industry. We are proud of the commitment and support our residents, their families and our associates have bestowed upon one another. We truly are Heritage United!

Last month we celebrated National Assisted Living Week, and what a fun time it was! Our communities are each at different phases of their reopening plans, but even in the most conservative phases, our teams put together dynamic activities, delectable treats and engaging moments for residents. Hope, joy and fun have not been canceled! Many communities enjoyed outdoor entertainment and individually packaged, homemade goodies. It was a refreshing change of pace to take a moment to pause, and celebrate the great things happening inside each building.

National Housekeeper and Environmental Services Day fell during the same week. What an appropriate time to send a special “thank you” to the housekeeping crew. These associates, who are tasked with keeping communities clean, set the tone for infection control. Their rigorous protocols for cleaning, now more than ever, ensure our residents stay healthy. How and when they clean common spaces and furniture, along with safe techniques for cleaning apartments helps to reduce the risk of spreading germs, including the COVID-19 virus. A special thank you to our environmental services teams who continue to show up each day without question, in order to keep residents safe!

Continued Service

Thank you for your continued trust and support in our teams. Heritage Communities exists because we wholeheartedly believe in “Living Better”. We have heard from several families that they have peace of mind, knowing their loved one is getting the care they need at a Heritage community. Living Better describes our mission for both residents and their family members. We are honored to be an extension of your family, caring for our residents both physically and emotionally. We are Heritage United.
