Volunteering at Heritage Communities

At Heritage Communities, we invite folks from all over to join our communities through enriching volunteer opportunities. Whether you’d like to run a round of Bingo, serve meals in our dining room, or lead our on-site church services, our communities welcome new faces with open arms. More than just a community service opportunity, volunteering with us fills your cup just as much as it does ours. Here are just a few examples of the types of volunteer opportunities we have to offer:

Each of our communities regularly posts their open volunteer positions. To find opportunities near you:

Step 1: Introduce yourself and learn about our community

Either call our community and ask to speak to the Life Enrichment Director about volunteering or complete this simple interest form and they will contact you. After a short conversation about opportunities and your interests, together you can decide if there is a fit and if you want to proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Complete additional application forms and background check.

To ensure the safety of our residents, we must run background checks on all volunteers. The most efficient way to accomplish this is by having you complete the process through our job posting system. All volunteers must pass a background check before working with us, and certain tasks require age minimums. We assign all positions at the discretion of the volunteer’s comfort level. 

  • Visit our job listings pages at heritage-communities.com/careers
  • Click on the job listings button for the region where you reside.
  • Search “volunteer.”
  • Select the community where you’d like to volunteer.
  • Fill out the form. You will not need to upload a resume or other documents, though there is a field where you can specify any interests or preferences you may have.
  • After completing these forms, you will receive a “job offer letter”, which can be used as proof of service if needed. It may seem awkward to receive a “job offer” as a volunteer, but it is just how the system is set up to respond to an application.
